Château Caillou

Château Caillou is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces only sweet white wines. The Château and vineyard are located in the commune of Barsac. The vineyard extends over nearly 13 hectares in a single block. The name of the château comes from its subsoil, which consists of a clay-limestone plateau covered with red sand containing slabs and rocks, thus giving the wine great finesse. Château Caillou is classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification of Sauternes wines.

The best vintages of Château Caillou are the 1929 vintage, 1959 grands crus, the 1967 wines, the 1979 vintage and the 1989 vintage.
