Jane Anson - Inside Bordeaux
Pomerol was one of the more successful appellations in the otherwise challenging 1975 vintage, but even so it is fascinating to see how much more evolved it is than the 1961 – a reminder that during these decades vintages was everything. Information on the vintage 1975 red Bordeaux: Unquestionably better than the three prededing vintage and certainly interesting, not to say challenging. The summer heat and the dryness, whilst helping the sugar content, thickened the skins. It resulted in wines of good fruit with high alcohol content, dark colour and high tannins. It was, still is, the latter which has caused the controversy.

Château Nenin

Château Nenin is a Bordeaux wine estate located on the Pomerol plateau. In the Pomerol AOC, the Château produces only red wines. The vineyard extends over a single 32-hectare plot, with the exception of one parcel. The average age of the vines is 27 years, and the grape varieties consist of Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Franc (25%).

The quality of Château Nenin wines continues to improve. A very strict selection is made during the harvest, with only 30 to 40% of the production dedicated to the great wines.
