(5-2004) Gorgeous, supple and packed with fruit; dark-colored and thick-textured, with lively aromas and succulent flavors. It mingles faded roses, cassis, wild strawberries and raspberries and a bit of wet earth. Long, succulent, balanced finish.

(7-2008) The manipulations this wine underwent have been shrugged off and this is much more harmonious than it was when I saw it just after bottling. There is now a hint of secondary fruit in evidence though the airy, spicy, fresh and wonderfully pure and complex nose is still largely primary in basic character as it leads to detailed, vibrant and sweet flavors that culminate in a finish that is distinctly linear, indeed almost a bit strict at present. Still, the transparency here is marvelous and while this is clearly still on the way up, it's more on the order of 5 years away from its peak. In a word, lovely.

Domaine Méo Camuzet

The Méo Camuzet Estate is a family-owned domain that produces Burgundy wines. It is located in Côte-des-Nuits and has existed since the Gallo-Roman period. For more than 4 centuries, the estate's expertise has been passed down from generation to generation, always with the ambition and desire to produce exceptional wines.

The estate spans 17.2 hectares of vineyards, including 13.7 hectares for red wine. The only grape variety grown there is Pinot Noir. The remaining 3.6 hectares are dedicated to white wine production, also with a single grape variety: Chardonnay. The Méo Camuzet estate produces Burgundy Grand Crus in the appellations of Richebourg, Echezeaux, Clos Vougeot and Corton; as well as Premier Crus in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Fixin. The wines produced by the estate are renowned for their excellent aging potential.
