Expert's opinions

(1-1998) This offering from Malescot is medium bodied, oaky, surprisingly soft and accessible, but well balanced in a lighter style. Soft, ripe-fruit, oaky aromas are charming and appealing on the palate.

Château Malescot Saint Exupery

Château Malescot St. Exupery is a 45-hectare wine estate with 30 ha of vines, located in Margaux in the Gironde region. In the AOC Margaux, it is classified as a third growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The grape varieties consist of: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. The grapes are hand-harvested and vinification lasts 4 to 6 weeks, favoring long maceration periods. The wines are aged for 16 months in new oak barrels. The wines are fined with egg whites and unfiltered.
