Information on the vintage 1961 red Burgundy: at best The growing season started off most encouragingly. A warm spring, with, by May, vegetation well in advance of normal. The difficulties started with an exceptionally long and uneven flowering followed by a poor summer. September was fine and warm the harvest taking place in good conditions from the 25th.The crop was well below average and the quality, though better than originally anticipated.

Louis Latour House Magnificent Burgundy! In 2009, the vine was able to benefit from ideal conditions throughout its cycle and, more particularly, during its maturation phase, bathed in light. Sun and warmth indeed stood out throughout August and September, providing extraordinary raw material revealed during vinification. The day after these, the authentic character of this vintage is already perceptible.
