Jean-Marc Quarin January - 2004

Blind tasting not decanted. Somber red. Medium to good intensity. Clean. Fruity. Earthy. Great entry into the mouth. Then the wine increases in size but remains slender. A nice length of cedar evoking cabernet sauvignon and coffee.

Falstaff February - 2011
Falstaff
Dark carmine garnet, delicate ochre rim, watery edge. On the nose, black berry fruit with a delicate spicy and tobacco undertone, a delicate hint of licorice, and a hint of chocolate. Juicy, elegant texture, fresh wild berry confit, fine tannins, a very long finish, balanced and very approachable, reaching a peak, with a sweet extract aftertaste, offering great drinking pleasure.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Scents of black fruit emerge with coaxing. Event though this 21 year old Bordeaux was decanted 2 hours, it remained brutally tannic reminding me of a 5 year old wine. Masculine in temperament, beefy, almost hard, daring you to take a bite out of it, or a sip. Layers of ripe black fruit could be sensed under the huge, tannic cloud, but will this be any fun to drink before it hits 30 years old? I doubt it.

Jancis Robinson January - 2008

Still young-looking and – young-smelling. Very full and rich nose. Opulent. Slightly dusty. Even more robust than most other vintages.
