Falstaff December - 2019
Falstaff
Strong carmine garnet, subtle ochre reflections, broad rim lightening. Delicately animalistic black berry fruit, cassis, licorice, tobacco nuances. On the palate juicy and elegant, ripe, still present tannins, shows backbone, chocolatey texture, very good length, has reached a drinking peak, fine mint in the aftertaste, harmonious and sweet on the mineral-influenced finish, has further aging potential.

This could be the wine of the vintage. At 40, that is more than long enough for this stunning wine really stand out from the pack. The incredible volume, depth of flavor, concentration, power, and regal bearing must be tasted to believe and understand. The waves of fruit never stop developing. The more than 60-second, and the seamless finish leaves you speechless.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
1982 was a great vintage—relatively warm and prolific, producing wines of richness and depth. The 1982 Latour has a medium garnet-brick color and then pow!—it belts out powerful notes of star anise, dried roses, sandalwood and new leather with a core of kirsch, blackberry tart, dried mulberries and blackcurrant pastilles. Full-bodied, rich and spicy with bags of fruit and tons of savory fireworks, it finishes with epic persistence.

An impressive, muscular, tightly knit, majestic Latour. This vintage shows Latour at its best - combining power with restraint and intensity with grace. Still at its perfect peak, loosening up after a few hours in the decanter. Ending with a very long, unforgettable finish.

Big and chewy. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, long currant, berry and cherry character. Underrated. Still more to come in this wine.

Jancis Robinson September - 2020

Absolutely stonking. Beautifully layered, complex, fully mature nose. On the palate there was more sweetness than one usually associates with Ch Latour – a vintage factor presumably – and then a light tarry character towards the end of the palate that resonates with top-quality Pauillac and Latour's usual mineral signature. Just gorgeous and complete, at the height of its powers.

Château Latour
Château Latour

Château Latour is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces wines under the Pauillac appellation. Premier Cru Classé in the Official Classification of Bordeaux wines created in 1855. It is undoubtedly a reference in the Médoc.

Created around 1680, the Château Latour vineyard is one of the oldest in the Médoc. At the heart of the estate, the main plot, named "l'Enclos", consists of 47 hectares of old vines that are preciously maintained, as they are the only ones capable of giving birth to the "Grand Vin". The 18 hectares of external plots, the vines less than 10 years old, and any declassified cuvées produce the estate's second wine, "Les Forts de Latour". Château Latour wine is an example of consistency regardless of the quality of the vintage. Firm, tannic and concentrated in its youth...

Latour is the very example of excellence, in both good and bad years. Among the greatest vintages, the château's finest achievements: 1920, 1929, 1949, 1955, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1982, 1990, 2000.
