CHÂTEAU LATOUR 1955
CHÂTEAU LATOUR 1955
If multiple bottles are in stock, the photo is non-contractual and illustrates the condition of the bottle.

1955 is a great vintage for Château Latour. Comparable to the years 1949 and 1952 the wines are elegant, generous and round. At the tasting, Château Latour has been at its peak for several years. On the nose, it presents notes of smoke, leather and liquorice. On the palate, the tannins are well melted. A great discovery for lovers of great wines.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Mahogany core with tawny rim. The nose is lovely, with mint, cherry and redcurrants. There is a fantastic lift and unerring vivacity about it. The palate is medium-bodied with racy acidity, fine tannins, very classic in style but with superb freshness and poise. Another testament to the greatness of this overlooked vintage. Drink now.

Pretty, racy and fine. Shows rich aromas of cherries, minerals and currants. Full-bodied, with lovely ripe fruit, silky tannins and a long finish. A beauty.

Very good wine. Deep, healthy colour; perfect nose, flavour, balance, and length. Complete. Faultless.

Château Latour
Château Latour

Château Latour is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces wines under the Pauillac appellation. Premier Cru Classé in the Official Classification of Bordeaux wines created in 1855. It is undoubtedly a reference in the Médoc.

Created around 1680, the Château Latour vineyard is one of the oldest in the Médoc. At the heart of the estate, the main plot, named "l'Enclos", consists of 47 hectares of old vines that are preciously maintained, as they are the only ones capable of giving birth to the "Grand Vin". The 18 hectares of external plots, the vines less than 10 years old, and any declassified cuvées produce the estate's second wine, "Les Forts de Latour". Château Latour wine is an example of consistency regardless of the quality of the vintage. Firm, tannic and concentrated in its youth...

Latour is the very example of excellence, in both good and bad years. Among the greatest vintages, the château's finest achievements: 1920, 1929, 1949, 1955, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1982, 1990, 2000.
