Expert's opinions

Medium/full bodied, soft, silky and plush, with a black cherry, cocoa powder and truffle scented nose, the wine finishes with sweet, plums and a hint of chocolate. While already becoming fun to drink, it will be even better with another 3-5 years of bottle age.

Medium intensity color. Fruity nose, smelling nicely of very ripe raspberry and licorice. Juicy, silky, aromatic and quite full palate. Enveloped finish of good length. It needs to be waited for.

Strong ruby garnet, delicate violet reflections, water rim. On the nose delicate notes of grapefruit zest, red berry compote, a hint of apricots, delicately underlaid with dried plum notes. On the palate opulent and juicy, wood is barely noticeable, fine extract notes, perfect tannins, adheres very well, lovely sweetness on the finish, a textbook Pomerol.

Complex, this is a wine that is slashed through with fresh fruit, but that only enhance the dense tannins and solid structure. Yet it preserves a lightness and freshness.

Dense, quite composed, lithe character on the nose with juicy black fruits and a hint of chocolate. Palate has lovely definition. Plenty of dense, fleshy black fruits with a plummy grip and ripeness tannins forceful but chocolaty and rich and bright acidity. Very good

Raspberry and floral aromas follow through to a medium-to-full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a chocolate, cream and cedar aftertaste. This has mellowed with time. Best after 2012.

Château Latour À Pomerol
Château Latour à Pomerol. After establishing itself in the 40s, 50s and 60s as one of the most sumptuous Bordeaux wines, Latour à Pomerol experienced a difficult period, producing only very good, but not exceptional wines in the following 3 decades. In recent years, the estate has improved and rejoined the group of the top twenty Pomerol wines. In style, it is more reminiscent of Trotanoy or La Fleur Petrus, to which it was generally compared during its glory days. The wines of Latour à Pomerol are remarkably colored and dark, and generally stand out as powerful, opulent, and fleshy Pomerols. The vineyard is composed of 2 plots, one of which is located near the Pomerol church, on a bed of deep gravel, and the other, smaller one, on a sandier and lighter soil.
