The aromas of mature tobacco, beef blood, violets...the finish shows graphite and cold steel, like the vibe that comes from a big one from Pauillac. This is classy and muscular stuff in well treated bottles. A great mix of antique and fresh...Lovely...Drink

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
One of this estate’s superstars (only rivaled by the 1986 and 1996), the 1990 Lagrange exhibits sweet toasty oak notes intermixed with jammy blackberries, cassis, licorice, smoke, and underbrush. Full-bodied with lovely melted tannins, an opulent, fleshy mouthfeel, and loads of purity as well as depth,

The revelation of the vintage is holding up well even though I think the 1989 now surpasses it. Slightly evolved color. Very fruity, fresh, and subtle nose where an aging bouquet appears. Velvety, elongated and fleshy palate, of good body. Savory and enveloped tannins. Beautiful complex finish.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Big, muscular and tannic, the wine offers tobacco, cassis, black cherry and forest floor scents. Traditional in style, from a blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot, this solid wine is fully mature.

Jancis Robinson February - 2010

First bottle: not 100% clean. Medium depth, glowing crimson. Very rich and sweet and fleshy. Very rich and almost right bank in its appeal. A hint of decay. Second bottle: more opulent on the nose. Very clean and fresh and much more youthful than the first bottle. Hint of malty chocolate. Very sweet and rich, though with lots of development ahead. Younger than many 1990s. Great stuff.

Château Lagrange
Château Lagrange

Château Lagrange, a Grand Cru Classé in 1855 located in the western part of the Saint-Julien appellation in the heart of the Médoc wine region. The Château produces 3 wines. The blending of the red wines, which both benefit from the Saint-Julien appellation, leads to the differentiation between the Grand Vin "CHATEAU LAGRANGE", generally produced from old vines with an average age of over 30 years, and the Second Wine "LES FIEFS DE LAGRANGE", which comes from younger vines. The dry white wine with Bordeaux appellation "LES ARUMS DE LAGRANGE" is one of the estate's curiosities. Its production is very limited and represents no more than three percent of the total production.
