Dark purple colour, almost black. Very backward. Very earthy too with an edge of mineral scents and a deeply hued set of aromas. Massive wine. Huge concentration of dense, brooding fruit and thick, chewy texture. Very drying new-oak tannins but that plummy depth stands up to them. Very serious and structured.

Dark red color, bordeaux. Medium to good intensity. Nose of medium intensity. Fruity. Creamy. A little lactic. White fruits too. When swirled, very white fruits. Why? Tender on the attack then round, very juicy, energetic, this wine advances with strength and without stiffness, on a spicy taste and a very beautiful construction without any tannic rigidity. Beautiful flavorful length, rather rich and very fruity. Beautiful pure taste and very Médoc-like. A success.

The wine has a beautiful, dense ruby robe. The nose is spicy with notes of blackcurrant, cedar and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with melted tannins and present acidity, which gives it a certain elegance. A fairly classic Bordeaux that is ready to drink now.

Fully mature, with an attractive, tobacco, cedar chest, spice and cherry tobacco nose. Medium bodied, and better on the palate than with its stern character.

Mid ruby with hardly any ageing. Quite full and ripe and dense and attention grabbing. Big, bold fruit followed by St-Estèphe freshness. Lots to get your teeth into here… Very youthful. Very flattering. Quite sweet for a St-Estèphe.

Château Lafon Rochet
Château Lafon-Rochet, Bordeaux / Saint Estèphe Grand Cru Classé 1998 Château Lafon-Rochet offers wines that are among the most consistent in the appellation. Deliberately typical of Saint Estèphe, Lafon-Rochet wines are as opulent as they are harmonious and can be enjoyed earlier than their neighbors. The estate also produces a second wine called Les Pèlerins de Lafon-Rochet.
