Laboure Roi's House was founded in 1832 in the town of Nuits Saint Georges by Mr King and Mr Laboure. Twenty years ago Mr. Claude-Joseph Bonnet founded what would become a prosperous silk house in Lyon. In 1974, these two houses merged when Louis and Armand Cottin, direct descendants of Mr. Bonnet, bought Laboure Roi to Mr Jeanniard direct descendant of Mr and Mr Laboure Roi. The Burgundy region is particularly steeped in history and tradition. It may be noted that the symbol is the flower Laboure Roi de Lys, the floral emblem of King Louis VII of France, renowned for his sense of honor and nobility of knight. Burgundy wines have become famous thanks to the Church, who built monasteries attached to the top of the Grands Crus vineyards, the surrounding stone walls even protectors. The most famous of them is the Clos de Vougeot north of Nuits Saint Georges and its famous castle, now the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Knights of Tastevin [more info directly on the site. . ].
