Chateau d'Issan, Margaux 3rd Cru third classified growth in 1855. Castle Issan is a magnificent property situated on the banks of the Gironde, it is said that wine was served in Issan to the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry Plantagenet in 1152. The vines of Château d'Issan is classic, with about three quarts of Cabernet Sauvignon. Margaux is a natural end, who knows when to be fat and round the year lends itself. In recent years, the vintage vinified by Emmanuel Cruse are even more dense and more complex.
A great start to one of the best-ever decades in the history of Bordeaux. But it nearly didn't happen, as rot-inducing weather during an exceptionally cold July and August caused problems and a reduction of crop. Saved by a sunny September. Small production. High quality.
