Wine Spectator October - 2008

Dark ruby in color, showing aromas of currant, new oak and fresh herbs, with hints of spices. Full-bodied, with very chewy tannins and an outstanding concentration of fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Needs plenty of bottle age.

Drinking extremely well now, good fruit core with a lightness of touch, not a dense powerful wine and lovely silky mouthfeel. Not a complex wine though.

Jean-Marc Quarin February - 2020

Dark, intense and evolved color. Very aromatic and fine nose. Ripe fruity and truffled. Soft on the attack, full in the mid-palate, juicy and tasty, the wine evolves a bit harsh in the finish, which disrupts the balance of its unfolding. Normal length.

Doctor Wine (05-2016) A cool year, although not as much as 2002, which produced an elegant and taut Sassicaia. The color is a bright garnet and the aromas balsamic, ‘Bordeaux-esque’, with notes of eucalyptus, bon bon anglais (chocolate and mint), blackcurrant and sweet spice. The mouthfeel is taut with a nice acidity that makes it agile and nicely drinkable. The finish is subtle yet persistent.

Jancis Robinson May - 2009

Paler and older than most. Subtle and complex on the nose, very sweet start. One of the most distinctive wines – a little lacking real concentration and with rather marked acidity. Just a bit too raw – but it’s not typically Chilean. Very different from most. An Italian ringer? Or maybe just an inexpressive Bordeaux? Not showing well against all the opulence.
