The Château Haut-Bailly is a french estate that produce Graves grands crus classés in Pessac-Leognan appellation.
Château Haut-Bailly is one of the few major properties to produce only red. In 1998, the Sanders family sold the vineyard to an American banker, Bob Wilmers, but Veronique Sanders continues to manage. Tannins wise, almost discreet, a delicate balance, "without anything too" as he likes to say, Jean Sanders, define the incomparable style Haut Bailly. Nothing conspicuous in this wine that embodies the finesse of Bordeaux.

Information on the vintage in Bordeaux : Thoroughly upstaged by the quality, the sheer bravado of the preceding year. But because the 1961 vintage was very small and, in the light of the times, very expensive, the abundant crop of the very good '62s following a satisfactory growing season, proved useful. I have always liked this now somewhat underrated and largely overlooked vintage.
