The 2005 Cote Rotie la Turque is utterly profound, and a desert island wine if there ever was one. Crème de cassis, blackcurrants, chocolate, barbecued meats and bacon fat all literally soar from the glass of this full-bodied, structured, perfectly balanced Cote Rotie that doesn’t have a hair out of place. It’s just now at the early stages of drinkability and will benefit from 2-4 more years in the cellar, and keep for 2-3 decades after that.

Extremely dense and reserved, with only hints of coffee, bittersweet chocolate and charred apple wood leaking out from the core of melted fig, black licorice, Lapsang souchong tea and currant preserve notes. GUIGAL vinifies and ages the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley in its cellars in Ampuis, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Crozes-Hermitage. The aging of the great southern appellations Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel, and Côtes-du-Rhône is also carried out in the Ampuis cellars.

The Hermitage 'Ex-Voto' is produced in the finest vintages, while the Saint-Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph' in white and red, as well as the famous red Saint-Joseph "Vignes de l'Hospice", are true benchmarks for this appellation.

Among the jewels of Domaine Guigal are the must-have Côte Rôtie "La Landonne", "La Turque", and "La Mouline". Undoubtedly known worldwide, Rhône wine enthusiasts clamor for them. Some great vintages: 1978, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2005
