Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
A blast of roasted herb, licorice, and black fruit scents jump from the glass of this full-bodied, superconcentrated 1987. Very pure, with some pain grille notes from new oak still present, this thick, juicy wine is soft, but its color and bouquet are more typical of a 3- or 4-year-old wine than one that is approaching 10 years of age. The finish is long and rich, with more tannin than in La Mouline.

Jeannie Cho Lee April - 2017
Jeannie Cho Lee
This vintage of La Turque has finally shed its firm, youthful tannins and the flavors have evolved into layers of leather, dried mushrooms and dried berries. The perfume is meaty and sweet while the finish is spicy, filled with nutmeg and cloves. A wine at its peak - perfectly poised and mature.

Domaine Guigal
Domaine Guigal

The Domaine E. Guigal stands as one of the absolute references of the Rhône Valley, both northern and southern. Founded in 1946 in Ampuis by Étienne Guigal, the family estate has built its reputation on an exacting interpretation of terroirs and a constant pursuit of excellence. Today led by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the domaine embodies a heritage vision of great wine, recognized on an international scale.

Historically based in Ampuis, Maison Guigal vinifies and ages in its cellars all the great northern Rhône appellations, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. This same site also ensures the aging of emblematic southern appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, guaranteeing perfect mastery of aging and a coherent stylistic identity.

Closely associated with Côte-Rôtie, where it produces some of the most iconic cuvées of the Rhône, Domaine E. Guigal distinguishes itself with wines of remarkable depth and longevity. Vintages that have become references, such as Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque 1985, Guigal La Landonne 1990, Guigal La Landonne 1989, Guigal Hermitage Ex-Voto 2003, Guigal La Mouline 1999, Guigal La Landonne 1989, Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline 2010, Guigal La Mouline 2018 testify to the qualitative consistency and exceptional aging potential of the estate.
