Perhaps this exemplifies that, especially with older vintages, there are not chateaus, there are not vintages. There are bottles and provenances. After reading rave reviews was looking forward to. But was while pretty perfumed with solid traditional claret bones, thinning and just into decline. First bottle of the night was 82 Montrose, so that set a high benchmark. Will see what other bottle is like soon.

Jean-Marc Quarin January - 1993

Bordeaux red color. Ruby. Lively with a hint of evolution. Nose of medium intensity. Fine, floral. Ripe fruits. On swirling, an animal note. Soft attack, developing on a structure that is both supple and dynamic, evolving elegantly in a straight line towards a finish with balanced tannins but once again on a slightly lively register, which is surprising for an 85. Finesse nonetheless.
