Allen Meadow - Burghound October - 2006
Allen Meadow - Burghound
As is the usual hallmark of Bernard Dugat's wines, this is very exceptionally ripe for the vintage featuring a mix of primary and secondary spicy black pinot fruit aromas nuanced with hints of earth, crushed herbs and the classic gamy character of a fine Mazis that introduces extremely concentrated, powerful and intense full-bodied flavors that are a beautiful combination of muscle and detail, all wrapped in a moderately structured, velvety and mouth coating finish. This is still on its way up but it should be approachable in 4 to 5 years.

Domaine Bernard Dugat Py
Domaine Bernard Dugat Py

Dugat-Py is a family-owned estate. It has been established in Gevrey-Chambertin since the 17th century. Located in the heart of the great Burgundian terroirs, the estate strives to preserve the elaboration and traditions of Burgundy wines. Thirteen generations of winemakers have accumulated unparalleled expertise and continuous work over more than 10 hectares. The distinctive feature of Dugat-Py is notably found in its vines, some of which are classified as "Very Old Vines" with an average age of 65 years.

Among the numerous cuvées from this producer, we find in Burgundy Grand Cru: Chambertin "Very Old Vines", Mazis Chambertin "Very Old Vines", Charmes Chambertin "Old Vines" ... The Dugat-Py estate also produces Gevrey-Chambertin premier cru from Burgundy on many climats (Lavaux St-Jacques, Petite Chapelle, Les corbeaux and many others).
