Falstaff January - 2023
Falstaff
Strong carmine, broad ochre rim. Inviting cassis, a hint of olives, in the background verbena and lime, tobacco-like nuances. Juicy, good complexity, subtle fruit, freshly structured, ripe cherries, mineral, youthful with fresh notes, lasting finish. Certain aging potential. Very vital, has reached a drinking peak, a classic of the Domaine from the traditional phase.

Jean-Marc Quarin November - 1994

Medium intensity, evolved, clean, intense and very smoky. More reminiscent of a wine from the Pessac terroir. Clean. Very intense. Smoky. Oaky. Very toasted in the sense of roasted. This is not the toasting of the barrel. Soft attack, developing on a straight-shaped structure, very smoky in flavor, rich. Very slow evolution, all in delicacy in the mouthfeel, towards a very long, powerful, highly aromatic and complex finish. Tobacco, smoke, cedar. Beautiful wine. Excellent value for money worth noting.

Gorgeous aromas of tobacco, meat and dried fruits. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and a fresh fruit and earth finish. Another winner from Domaine de Chevalier.

Dark color, nose of black fruit, blackberry, prune. The palate is very classic, well balanced, with tobacco and precious wood. Very nice length. A great Bordeaux.

Jeannie Cho Lee November - 2004

Surprisingly youthful, this 14 year old wine is tight knit with earthy, cedar notes and black fruits on the palate. The wine is just opening up and starting to shed its baby fat with supple, velvety tannins rounding out the wine. Fairly long finish shows promise that the wine should age beautifully.

Light ruby in color, with bricking at the edges, the wine offers smoke, truffle, tobacco, cassis, earth, spice and cigar aromas. Medium bodied, elegant, soft and refined, this is fully mature and will not improve. I'd drink this over the next 5 years as I don't think it has the stuffing to age much past that point.
