Jean-Marc Quarin September - 2005
Jean-Marc Quarin
Tasted blind and not decanted. Dark red color, medium intensity, evolved. Moderately aromatic nose, smelling of ripe fruit. Fresh nuances, more animal notes when swirled. Sweet wine in its touch and pleasant, but the body is lacking. Medium length.

Offers more on the nose than the palate, yet it's delicious. Gorgeous aromas of berries and stones. Medium- to full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a berry and earth aftertaste.

Domaine visit. Denser than the 1985 next to it, tannins a touch try as so often with the 1995s. Very nice tertiary, earthy aromas.

Smoke, earth, cassis, cedar wood, tobacco, ash and tar made up the interesting perfume. Medium bodied, this soft, charming, mature wine finishes with sweet, red and black fruits.

Falstaff January - 2023
Falstaff
Strong garnet, broad ochre-colored lightening at the rim. Spicy, black forest berries, some licorice, tobacco nuances, hint of damp undergrowth, subtle green nuances. Juicy on the palate with red cherries, leafy nuances, somewhat hard tannins, salty, but also some bitterness on the finish, not without rusticity, nevertheless a spicy food companion.

Jancis Robinson September - 2023

Garnet with a light brick rim. Red-fruit notes but the oak still seems to be lingering. There’s a touch of vanilla aromatically, some sweetness on the palate and slightly dry finish. Better maturity though, and freshness as always.
