Expert's opinions

(8-2000) Wonderful aromas of lemon meringue and pineapple, with hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, very sweet, with lively acidity. This is a live wire. Superb.

Jean-Marc Quarin June - 2000

Refreshed the next day after 24 hours of opening. Nose of medium intensity. Gingerbread. Confit. Very vanilla. Exotic. Lots of vanilla to stir. Clean and soft attack, developing on a caressing, melting structure with a fine touch. Delicious mid-palate. Lively finish with a very good taste of candied fruits, toasted almonds and raisins. Nice length. Great wine that 24 hours of opening has improved. He will go far!

Jeannie Cho Lee November - 2014

A delightful sweet wine at its optimal maturity, this Doisy-Vdrines offers sweet apricot, honey and butterscotch notes with a long finish. There is a freshness and wonderful linearity to balance the wine's generous sweetness.

Château Doisy Védrines

It is one of the châteaux that were created from the large historic Doisy property. Doisy was established in 1704, but divided into three separate wine estates in 1851, the other two being Château Doisy-Daëne and Château Doisy-Dubroca. At 30 hectares (74.1 acres), of which 27 are under vine, Doisy-Védrines is the largest of the three. Védrines has been owned by the Castéja family since the 19th Century, who also own several other Bordeaux estates under their major négociant business Borie-Manoux, namely Château Batailley in Pauillac and Château Trotte Vieille in Saint-Émilion.
