Cellar Tracker December - 2023

The color is still showing pretty youthful with a ruby-crimson color and slight orange on the rim. The nose is complex with notes of spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cherries, red berries, mint, savory herbs, espresso, and tertiary notes of cigar smoke and leather. On the palate, the wine is round, rich, silky, and fleshy but shows good restraint with an earthy edge. There are blackberries, red cherries, raspberries, and plums finely-woven into cacao powder, leather, and minerals notes, ending on a long toasted vanilla finish with floral hints. Fine-grained, but well-integrated tannins with soft acidity, this is such a luscious and complex wine still in its prime, showing great balance and restraint.

Dark red color. Black. Still young. Fine and creamy nose. A careful entry into the mouth and the wine develops aromatic with a subtle touch, a fine taste and a suave note. Melting, it ends long, with a touch of liquorice and great freshness. Mineral note in the persistence.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Aged ruby red. Complex nose, tobacco, herbs, spicy notes, red fruit, plum, very fresh. Opulent on the palate, with still good fruit, fine-grained tannins, expansive, balanced, extremely long and ripe to perfection. A current poem. Enjoy now until 2035+.

Medium-bodied, soft, silky, elegant, and loaded with truffles, cigar wrapper, dark plum and red cherry notes, the finish is refined, earthy and fresh. This is full-mature and should be consumed.

Information on the vintage 1998 red Bordeaux : 3/5 Variable but as always in less than perfect weather conditions, so much depended on the forsight and skill of individual chateaux proprietors and/or winemakers.
