Allen Meadow - Burghound November - 2009
Allen Meadow - Burghound
Bricked through but the color is vibrant rather than dull. As is the case with many '64s today, there is a touch of volatile acidity on the ripe, complex and layered nose that is given over primarily to sous bois though there are notes of earth, underbrush and smoke that serve as a very pretty introduction to attractively textured, rich and full-bodied flavors that coat the mouth with sap on the long if slightly warm finish. This is a really lovely effort that is still drinking well and should continue to do so as the only nit of any consequence is a discernable touch of backend dryness. However, given the richness of the mid-palate, I doubt it will become a problem anytime soon.
