(2009) Currant and grilled meat, with hints of sweet tobacco on the nose. Full-bodied, with soft and silky tannins, but a little tart on the finish. Falls a little short.

(02-1993) Chasse-Spleen made a good, elegant 1988. Displaying a generous, intense, smoky, blackcurrant bouquet, and chewy, medium-bodied flavors, it has a surprisingly long, spicy, soft finish.

Chasse Spleen
Chasse Spleen
On the road lined with Chateaux of the Médoc on the way to Pauillac, just outside the village of Arcins on the left just after the famous inn the Lion d'Or, is the vineyard Chasse-Spleen. Chasse-Spleen produces one of the most outstanding wines of the Medoc, and certainly the Moulis. Situated on four parcels of serious Quaternary 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, Chasse-Spleen produced under the inspired direction of Céline Villars-Foubet a firm  and structured wine, with the robe deep and brilliant, which develops aromas of cassis and red fruit with hints of chocolate and cedar on the tannins, elegant result of a combination of modern and traditional winemaking.
