Dark red. Good intensity. Belle. Bright. Net. Medium intensity. Fruity. Citrus notes. Then smoke. Wine round, fruity, normal weight, with pure flavors of red fruits and hints of incense. In the final, continuing its evolution towards a marked slowing enough tannic my desire to better note. It is quite firm.

One of the two finest estates of Moulis (the other being Poujeaux), Chasse Spleen’s large vineyard is planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. The ripe, generous 2001 is a chunky, fleshy, deep rubypurple-colored effort revealing good body, moderate tannin, and an earthy, black currant fruitiness offering notions of minerals and tree bark.
Very good red with plum, berry and light mineral character. Medium-bodied, with good tannins and a long, caressing finish. Solid wine for the vintage.
(5-2010). Deepish crimson without that much development at the rim. Firm, zesty, almost orange peel nose and then fruit that is just starting to melt and mature. Firm and confident with appealing freshness. Just starting to drink well though it should have many years ahead of it. .
