The Château Caillou is a french estate that produce Sauternes wines. It is located in Barsac. It is a second growth of Sauternes classification. Ownership of Chateau Caillou an area of 13 ha in one piece has not been modified since the cadastral classification. The name comes from its Caillou basement consists of a limestone plateau of clay houses topped with red sand and rock slabs thus making the wine a great finesse.
The best vintages of Château Caillou are 1929 vintage, grands crus of 1959, wines of 1967, the vintage 1979 and cru classé of 1989.
