Information on the vintage 1952 red Bordeaux: 2-
The growing season was very satisfactory up until September which was cold and unsettled. The harvest was fairly early and I suspect the unripeness of some of the cro is responsible for its variability: best in the Graves and on the Right Bank.

Henri Lurton is the soul of this estate which already had a good reputation in the eighteenth century. It is true that the terroir is superb. He adds his style, harveting at the height of ripemess, strictly sorting the grapes, stamping the mark of the terroir on the wines, with a richer raw material, a new aromatic complexity and elegance that allow the wines to age longer than in the past. A great Margaux at affordable prices.
