(08-2014) Despite the extreme heat of June, July and August, this beautiful wine’s terroir shows through. A dense plum/purple color is accompanied by sweet cassis and black currant aromas, broad, round, juicy fruit flavors, medium body, and hints of figs, spice box and cedar. This complete, juicy, fully mature, impressive wine can be consumed over the next 7-8 years.

(01-2006) The most beautifully situated chateau, with its great view of the Gironde estuary, Beychevelle is another of those Médoc estates that has found top form after a fallow period in the 1980s and early '90s. The wine's generosity, sweetness and fruit is balanced with the carefully crafted structure of wood that underpins it all.

(04-2019) The nose is fruity, elegant and offers power. It reveals notes of very ripe strawberry, ripe blackberry and small notes of underwood associated with small touches of ripe raspberry, incense, violet as well as meaty hints and very fine hints of liquorice. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers richness, fat, a small freshness, tension, juiciness, a juicy/mineral frame as well as a small power. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/ripe strawberry, fleshy/ripe raspberry and small notes of blackberry associated with fine touches of fleshy/ripe cherry, hints of underwood, meat/smoke as well as very fine hints of tonka bean, toasted almond and discreet hints of spices (in the background). Tannins are well-built and structuring.

Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle is a fourth classified grand cru (classification of Medoc wines of 1855) of the Saint-Julien appellation. Located on the left bank of the Médoc, the vineyard includes 92 hectares of vines. The vines are around 30 years old and benefit from reasoned treatment. Château Beychevelle is a classic Saint-Julien: roundness, rich aromas, and power. The classic harmony of the greatest Médoc, which deserves much more than the fourth cru of the 1855 classification.

The best vintages of Beychevelle are undoubtedly 1982 and the vintage 1986. The wines of 1989, 2000 and grands crus of 2005 are equally exceptional. Finally, Château Beychevelle has also produced great vintages such as 2009, 2010 and the 2015 vintage.
