Wine Spectator
(8-2003) Clean and fresh, bursting with fruit and spices. Full-bodied, it delivers some game, truffle, vanilla notes. It's distinctive and ought to reveal wonderful terroir with age, but for now it hasn't come together. Needs time.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Deep garnet colour with a faint touch of brick in the rim. Classic Beaucastel earthymeatygamey nose with an undercurrent of stewed strawberries, Chinese dried plums and soy. Quite elegant on the palate with a medium to full body and a reasonably taut structure of medium to high acidity and a medium level of velvety tannins. Layer upon layer of spices and savoury flavours. Long finish. Drink now to 2024.

(4-2013) Fairly light color for a Chateauneuf. The nose is wonderful. Red fruit, fresh, “sweet”. The palate is round, with well-integrated tannins, delicious. Drinks with great pleasure.

Château de Beaucastel
Château de Beaucastel

Château de Beaucastel is a wine estate located in Courthezon, a commune near Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Vaucluse department. The château is a reference in Rhône wines. Château de Beaucastel spans over 130 hectares of vineyards. Three-quarters are cultivated under the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation and the rest under the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation.

Respecting winemaking traditions, the château exclusively harvests by hand. The grapes are carefully sorted upon arrival at the cellar, and only the finest grapes will be vinified.

All grape varieties are vinified separately, each having its own character and aromas: Grenache and Cinsault provide warmth, color and smoothness, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Muscardin and Vaccarèse contribute solidity, longevity and a very distinct taste, and finally Counoise and Picpoul bring freshness and unique bouquets of aromas.

The meticulous work of the Perrin family is different each year and determines the quality, originality and specificity of each vintage. This marriage is the culmination of months of effort, care, and loving attention at every moment. It is the expression of a terroir in a specific year.
