Very refined nose. Palate full of vivacity and liveliness. Truly very refined, and the vineyard expresses itself much better than the producer. It soars on the palate. Finish wonderfully balanced in flavors. Very fine tannins. Magnificent.

Wine Spectator
On the palate, this complex and harmonious red wine offers sumptuous aromas of rose, strawberry, cherry, and sandalwood, enhanced by notes of licorice, earth, and spice. Silky and elegant, it reveals a mineral and graphite note on a long finish.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate

Domaine Armand Rousseau
Domaine Armand Rousseau

Domaine Armand Rousseau was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Armand Rousseau. The estate comprises over 15 hectares of vineyards, including 8.5 hectares of Grand Crus and 3.8 hectares of Premier Crus, cultivated using sustainable farming practices. The vineyard soils are limestone and clay-limestone.

Domaine Armand Rousseau produces six emblematic Burgundy Grand Crus: Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Ruchottes-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin, and Clos de la Roche.

The wine aging process is done in 100% new oak barrels for Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. Clos Saint Jacques is aged in 70% to 100% new oak barrels depending on the vintage. All other Grand Crus are aged in one-wine barrels. The barrels come from Allier forests and are medium-toasted. The aging period lasts 20 months, during which two rackings are performed. Bottling generally takes place in April after a light plate filtration to preserve the delicate fruit of Pinot Noir. The bottling is done by gravity, directly from the barrels after blending.

The wines from Domaine Armand Rousseau are long-aging: 15 years for the Premier Crus and 20 years for the Grand Crus.
