Château Beau-Site
Château Beau-Site
In the north of the Medoc, Château Beau Site, aptly named, faces south overlooking the river. This enviable geographical position faces that of its prestigious neighbor Calon-Ségur, established on the neighboring crest. As noted in the "Feret", Beau-Site is one of the oldest properties in the prestigious commune of Saint-Estèphe, noting that its wines are "distinguished, ample, elegant, comparable to those of its illustrious neighbors". "Beau-Site confirms that Saint Estèphe remains an excellent hunting ground for good deals with quality wines." - Decanter This Cru Bourgeois Supérieur sets the bar high. Composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, the blend of the fabulous 2000 vintage has given birth to a wine that is Bordeaux in more ways than one. A lovely fruit opens the aromatic dance, preceding violet, leather, and exotic essences. It arrives on the palate with elegance and a nice supple texture. This great Medoc classic does not lack presence, length, or expression. Admirable with seasonal dishes, it will require, like many great wines, to be aerated to fully reveal itself.
