Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The Pouilly-Fuisse La Croix Vieilles Vignes has mouth-watering aromas of honeysuckle blossoms and sugar-coated minerals. On the palate, this medium-to-full-bodied wine is rich, expressive, and broad. La Croix's silky-textured flavor profile is composed of stones and traces of butterscotch and tangerines. It should be at its peak between 1999 and 2005. Committed to low yields and late harvesting, Jean-Jacques Robert, one of the Maconnais' finest winemakers, has crafted four outstanding 1996s.

Information on the vintage 1996 - White Burgundy : If the '95s were good, the '96s were even better, wines with extra dimensions, about as good as white burgundy can get.

Château Denogent Robert
Denogent Robert
The Domaine Robert-Denogent – Fuissé – Pouilly Fuissé estate is not organic but tries to work as "clean" as possible, with the sole aim of producing the most beautiful and healthy grapes possible. Yields are first limited by short pruning ("Guyot" with the Mâconnais arch). The harvest is carried out at high maturity, while trying not to tip over into over-ripeness, a real risk on the great terroirs of Fuissé especially in recent years. For us, the village is a bit like the Mecca of great, very ripe Chardonnay... After delicate pressing and settling, the wines are barreled. No dangerous games during aging, the cellar is cool, Domaine Robert-Denogent does not stir and ages on lees as good and fine as possible, for two winters, somewhat in the manner of the great Meursault winemakers Jean-François Germain and François Jobard. A single goal at Domaine Robert-Denogent: to produce great wines for aging, complex, fresh, and above all as marked as possible by their terroirs.
