The Graves terroir runs along the Garonne on a narrow strip 55km long and 10km wide, bordered both to the South and West by pine forest that protects the terroir from bad weather, and to the East by the Garonne which acts as a thermal regulator. The soils are largely composed of gravel and pebbles, giving birth to refined Red Grand Vins with great aromatic power (blackcurrant, cinnamon) and excellent aging potential, as well as dry Whites with floral and fruity aromas, incisive and lively. These are among the qualities of this wonderful terroir. It is said that Graves is the oldest vineyard in Bordeaux. The first vines were planted here approximately 2000 years ago.
