It was towards the end of the 19th century that Maurice DEYDIER decided to settle in Châteauneuf-du-Pape as a cooper. Coming from a family of winemakers for 2 generations, he practiced this beautiful artisanal trade with talent for several years before realizing the obvious: what he was passionate about was the content of his barrels! He became a winemaker. He acquired a few plots of vines, transformed the cooperage workshop into a winery, and the first harvests of Châteauneuf
