Château Barges (Gilles)
Barges (Gilles)
Domaine Gilles Barge is a homestead, which owns 5. 70 ha en Côte Rôtie. From vineyards on the Cote Blonde and Combard the grapes are fermented cuvée of Plessy during three weeks in stainless steel tanks, before continuing their growth from 18 months in oak barrels. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration to meet all its character already generous aromas of fruit and spice. Far from the overkill and ways in which the passage through the woods meet standardization, Gilles Barge bans new oak to remind us that Syrah is primarily finesse and elegance. Guardian of a tradition of 2000 years among the terraces of Cote Rotie, he produces what he considers one of the world's largest red. Cuvée du Plessy fully justifies the position of winemaker. Issue of plots in Côte Blonde, more delicate than the Côte Brune, this wine offers all the smoothness and the generosity of a great wine. . .
