The Domaine Gilles Barge is a family-owned property, which notably owns 5.70 hectares in Côte Rôtie. Sourced from vineyards located on the Côte Blonde and Combard, the grapes for the Cuvée du Plessy are vinified for 3 weeks in stainless steel tanks, before continuing their aging for 18 months in oak barrels. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration to preserve its already generous character in fruit and spice aromas. Far from the trends where overpower and oak aging meet standardization, Gilles Barge bans new barrels to remind us that Syrah is above all about finesse and elegance. Guardian of a 2000-year-old tradition among the terraces of Côte-Rôtie, he produces what he considers one of the greatest red wines in the world. The Cuvée du Plessy fully justifies the winemaker's position. Originating from plots on the Côte Blonde, more delicate than the Côte Brune, this cuvée offers us all the finesse and generosity of a great wine.
