Château Château Taillefer
Château Taillefer
Château Taillefer is the first wine estate acquired in 1923 by the MOUEIX family. Its origin is very ancient, as shown on the maps of geographical engineer Pierre de Belleyme, surrounded by vineyards as early as 1764. Located on the outskirts of Libourne, Château Taillefer is managed by Catherine Moueix who inherited it. She accomplishes a flawless journey, caring for cultivation and vinification equal to the greatest growths in the area. Merlot and Cabernet Franc (75% and 25% of the blend respectively) are planted on sandy-gravelly soils rich in iron deposits. Made from hand-harvested grapes, the wine is aged for 15 months in oak barrels.
