(3-1993) Not as great as the '89, but seductive, with attractive vanilla and black cherry aromas and flavors, medium tannins, and a long, fresh finish. Has a lovely balance.

(5-2013) Beautiful garnet color. Discreet nose. Beautiful material on the palate. A bit monolithic. But powerful and quite long.

Château Château Citran
Château Citran
Château Citran is one of the oldest seigneuries in the Médoc. The Marquis of Donissan reigned here for 600 years and only abandoned their château in the mid-19th century. Since then, the management of the wine estate has experienced various ups and downs. The real development of Château Citran dates back to the 1980s when it was purchased by a Japanese company that invested heavily in the property. These efforts continued under the leadership of the Merlaut-Villars family, who have owned the estate since 1997. As a symbol of this good old bourgeois estate's revival, young Céline Villars (Chasse Spleen) now represents the château.
