(12001) Relative to its class, there is a good argument to be made that the best wine in the Lécheneaut gamme, year in year out, is their Les Cailles (not withstanding the usual brilliance of the Clos de la Roche). Strongly reduced though with considerable work in the glass, it reluctantly revealed hints of sublime black fruit and superb spice with big, round, very ripe tannins and sweet plumy flavors. The finish lasted for several minutes. Reference standard Les Cailles.
