Information on the vintage 1969 red Burgundy:
I think it took a little time to realise that this was by far the finest of the unusually good trio: 1969, 1970 and 1971, and I suspect that claret lovers, only too aware of the scragy and tart red Bordeaux, half-dismissed the 1969 Burgundies, though it happens to be the excellent acidity which made, and has sustained these wines.
