The 2002 vintage, an exceptional year for Burgundy wines. In Bordeaux, the wines were saved by the last rains before the harvest. The result is tannic wines. The greatest successes are to be found on the Right Side of the Médoc, particularly in Saint Emilion appellation. The Château Angelus 2002, Château Léoville Poyferré 2002, Château Cheval Blanc 2002 and Château Pavie 2002 offer very great wines. The Sauternes are superb but not exactly like the 2001 vintage. In Burgundy, The 2002 vintage is exceptional. The red wines are well balanced and magnificent. The most beautiful appellations of this vintage are Chambolle Musigny, Vosne Romanée… It’s a great vintage for the Champagnes, the wines are delicate and have a long aging potential.
