1968 wines, a very rare vintage

It‘s no secret that 1968 is far from being a great vintage for Bordeaux. A cold and wet year that gave the winegrowers a hard time. Not all chateaux have succeeded in producing good wines. Most red wines are characterless. However, thanks to its know-how, Château Haut Brion (which carried out a very strict selection of its grapes during the harvest) produced a Haut Brion 1968 fruity and with a good balance. It is one of the best wines of this vintage with the Petrus 1968.

As for Burgundy and the Rhône, we are also talking about a difficult vintage. 1968 did not produce great wines in these regions.
