Our opinion on the 1965 vintage: a complicated year throughout France

In Bordeaux, the 1965 vintage is unfortunately not a great vintage. A difficult year overall due to temperature variations and rainy weather. No great wines were made in this vintage. However, the great classified growths of 1965 remain great collector‘s wines such as Château Latour 1965.

The vineyards of Burgundy also had to face these climatic conditions and floods. Fortunately, the good weather in October allowed the grapes to reach maturity. The few successes in red wines are rare, but deserve attention.
