Our opinion on the 1933 vintage : a fairly good vintage. 

In Bordeaux, we remember a particularly hot year in 1933. The harvest was meager, due to the violent winds at the time of flowering. The Bordeaux wines of this 1933 vintage are light and pleasant, they can still have a lot of charm. The reds are particularly good overall, full-bodied and light. Some are of inferior quality and turn out to be acidic. Sauternes this year should be avoided.

In the Burgundy region, the high temperatures of the summer of 1933 allowed the grapes to ripen well. The result was a low yield but excellent red wines, with finesse and a fruity bouquet. As for the whites, they are just as successful, with a good quality of the vintage. The wines of 1933 are long-lived in Burgundy.

In the Rhone Valley, the yields are quite low due to the frosts in April, but the great estates have been able to produce very great wines in this vintage. In addition, the northern part of the Rhone Valley gives very structured and long-lasting wines.
