Information on the vintage 1947 red Burgundy :
A wonderfully rich vintage following an excellent growing season : warm summer, fully ripe crop picked early. Despite the problems encountered when the grapes are picked and fermented in very hot weather, the 1947 burgundies seem, in retrospect, more stable than their counterparts in Bordeaux.
