Haut Pourret

Serge Lepoutre operates this small vineyard of 3 hectares located in the hamlet of Pourret near the medieval town on the road to Libourne. His 2005 (ranked ** remarkable wine) looks great. In a deep, almost black color, it delivers fruity aromas (cherry eau-de-vie) who keep down the barrel. On the palate, too, the fruit is omnipresent, and a touch of tannins and animal solid and woody, whose persistence ensures proper aging. To keep five years before considering an agreement with white meat.
