Overall, the 2022 vintage was marked by summer drought and climatic hazards, but this didn't prevent most French regions from returning to decent volumes after particularly lean years.

Bordeaux 2022 wine is a great success with red wines reaching a remarkable level of quality. The sweet wines, although a little more contrasting, are sometimes superb.

The 2022 Burgundy red wines, from north to south, are generally very successful, displaying a deep color, dense flesh, and intensely fruity aromatic profiles.

Regarding the Rhône wines, it's not surprising that the whites, as in Condrieu, are full-bodied and somewhat lacking in acidity, but boast charming aromatics with spicy accents. The 2022 Rhône wines on the reds generally present a concentrated profile, but do not fall into the excessive ripeness seen in older, sunny vintages like 2003.

The Alsace wines exhibit a lovely sweetness, allowing them to be enjoyed relatively quickly. The Gewurztraminer and Muscats display a certain aromatic power, often offering full-bodied wines, while the Rieslings have managed to maintain a pleasant freshness and thus interesting balance. On the red wine side, the Pinot Noirs have achieved beautiful maturity, often offering juices of great fruit intensity and ripe, structured tannins.
