2019 is a good vintage in all the wine regions

In Bordeaux, vintages in “9” have the particularity of being very successful. 2019 is no exception to this tradition, we are talking about a qualitative and quantitative vintage. The red wines of 2019 are among the great vintages just like 2015 and 2016. Rich and intense, most red wines have aromas of black fruits. The best wines of 2019 in Bordeaux are on the right bank. Despite low yields, the sweet wines of Sauternes are satisfactory. Fresh, harmonious, intense, without excess richness, the wines are very similar to the 2015 vintage.

On the Burgundy side, we are talking about a good quality vintage. Despite complicated flowering with a few frosts in April, the fine summer weather allowed the grapes to ripen well. The 2019 Burgundy red wines are very fruity and floral with some spicy notes. We suggest Armand Rousseau Clos des Ruchottes 2019.

The 2019 vintage offers very sunny wines from the Rhône Valley side. A beautiful freshness, a good balance and finesse are the characteristics of the 2019 wines in the Rhône.
