Chateau Lamothe Guignard Second Cru Classé, Sauternes. Domaine de Lamothe is located on one of the highest points of the town of Sauternes. Historically, the area has been divided into several properties. The Guignard family has acquired plots of the field in 1981, and renamed the area Château Lamothe-Guignard. It now covers 16 hectares planted with Semillon (90%), Sauvignon (5%) and Muscadelle (5%). The second area Lamothe Sauternes Grand Cru Classe since 1855.
