The red Nuits Saint Georges almost always have an intense and dark color. The aromas are powerful and complex: they blend cherry, blackcurrant, fur, and sometimes spices. They are among the most tannic wines in Burgundy, although modern winemaking techniques tend to soften them. The harmony between tannins and roundness makes them full-bodied and solid wines.
